6 Easy Tips To Let Go Of A Hurtful Past And Free Yourself

6 Easy Tips To Let Go Of A Hurtful Past And Free Yourself

You probably have a lot of good memories you cherish, but there are also things in the past that should stay in the past. If you find yourself unable to move forward, then you need to read this article to find out how you can free yourself from a painful past.

  1. Focus on the now

There’s a reason why the past is called the “past.” It means there’s no going back. You can’t turn back the clock no matter how bad you want it. It’s just impossible. If you want to free yourself from the past, then you’ve got to put everything behind you and focus on what you have in your life right this very moment.

  • Make new memories

Sometimes the best way to go about replacing bad memories is by making new ones. Think of something that will truly be memorable for you, something that will make you smile many years from now.

  • Try something new

Exploring new territories and new experiences will certainly help you focus on the ‘now.’ When you’re doing something new, and you’re still learning the ropes, you often have to be aware of what you’re doing so you don’t do something foolish (this is especially important if you’re doing something risky).

  • Learn to forgive

Forgiveness is often key to letting go of a hurtful past. Some may say ‘forgive and forget,’ but forgetting isn’t always helpful. Let your bad experience teach you. Remembering the bad things that happened in the past can help you avoid similar situations in the future.

  • Express yourself

Bottling up your negative emotions can be harmful. So, it’s best if you can express yourself in a manner that will help you ‘exorcise’ your demons. Write about it in a journal, write a song about it, paint your emotions, or whatever works for you! You’ll feel much better after.

  • Just let it go

Sometimes, there’s really no point in rehashing things that have happened a long time ago. You have to make a conscious decision to let go and finally put a stop to your self-pity or self-hate or whatever negative emotion your past brings out in you.

5 Questions To Help You Find Your Purpose And Happiness In Life

5 Questions To Help You Find Your Purpose And Happiness In Life

We’ve only got a limited amount of time in this world. To make the most of it, we should be doing what we really want to do. We should figure out our purpose in life to give our existence some meaning. If you still haven’t found your purpose, here are 5 questions you can ask yourself to help narrow down your choices.

  1. What do you really want to do?

Don’t lie to yourself. This is one of the most important questions you need to answer in your entire life. Your answer will dictate the direction your life’s going to follow.

If you choose something you know you really don’t want to do, then you’re going to hate your life, I guarantee it. Answer this question truthfully if you ever want to live out the rest of your life happily.

  • Will it help others?

The greatest purpose one can have in this life is to leave as much positive impact as possible. You don’t need to be a saint or have tons of money to give to charity.

The point is you should align your purpose with something that won’t only benefit yourself, but will benefit as many people as possible. It’s going to be your legacy, so make it count.

  • Will it help you grow as a person?

Your life’s purpose shouldn’t keep you boxed in one corner. Instead, it should help you see the world in a better light so you can improve yourself and everyone around you.

  • Will it help you find happiness and freedom?

In addition to helping you grow as a person, you should also find joy and happiness while doing your purpose. It’s the only way you’re going to feel free and not imprisoned. If your purpose doesn’t make you feel happy in the long run, then you’re probably not working on your real purpose in life.

  • Will you regret your decision?

As they say, hindsight is 20/20. Before you embark on your mission of fulfilling your life’s purpose, ask yourself if you’re going to be regretting it.

If you say “yes,” then you better look for something else to do then. If you’re not going to enjoy the process, then you’re basically wasting your time.

5 Different Ways Gratitude Can Improve Your Quality Of Life

5 Different Ways Gratitude Can Improve Your Quality Of Life

You probably know of other methods that can help you improve your quality of life. But you know what ties most of these other methods together? Gratitude.

Saying “thank you” might sound simple enough, but the sad truth is that not a lot of people practice it in real life. So, here are 5 ways gratitude can have a positive impact on your quality of life.

  1. Gratitude makes you happier

When you remember everything you currently have in your life, it makes you feel good. No matter how little or how abundant your material or non-material wealth is, don’t take anything for granted. Be thankful for what you have, there are others out there who aren’t as lucky as you!

  • Gratitude makes you more likable

Saying thanks to people who make your life easier by way of a product or service will help boost that person’s morale. They’ll feel appreciated, and they’ll be bound to try and do their best to be better at their jobs. When people like and appreciate you, they tend to be more trusting and open which results in better relationships with everyone!

  • Gratitude makes you less self-centered

You probably dislike self-centered people. These are people who think of nothing but themselves and feel entitled to everything they can get their hands on. They have no regard for others, even if they’re stepping on someone’s toes. When you practice gratitude, you become aware of the people around you and in effect, you become more accepting towards others.

  • Gratitude makes you less envious

Envy is a double-bladed sword. It can be good or bad depending on how much envy you’ve got running in your system. It’s good if you can use it to do productive things, like motivating you to try and do something better with your life. But it’s bad if you let it take control – feelings of insecurity and inferiority can literally destroy your happiness. So, practice gratitude and be happy for those who are more successful than you.

  • Gratitude makes you more optimistic

Without feelings of envy, you can clearly see the path you need to take, so you too can succeed. When you make gratitude a habit, you see the silver lining in everything. It makes you more optimistic and gives you a more positive outlook in life!

3 Ways Lying To Yourself Can Hurt You And Your Happiness

3 Ways Lying To Yourself Can Hurt You And Your Happiness

It’s not uncommon for us to lie to ourselves. You’ve done it, I’ve done it, everyone’s done it. But is it healthy? That’s the question we’re going to answer in this article.

Whether you knowingly lie to yourself or not, the truth is that it’s an unhealthy practice. The human mind is a master of self-deception. You can easily convince yourself to believe something is true even though deep down you know it’s not. Here are 3 ways self-deception is hurting you:

  1. You’re causing yourself unnecessary pain

It’s tough not being true to yourself. Instead of doing something you really want to do, you’re stuck doing something you hate. Why? Because you’re afraid of the consequences.

You’re probably doing it out of respect for someone else, but you forget that you’re also disrespecting yourself in the process. You probably think people are going to treat you differently if you don’t follow the norm. That may be true, but you really don’t need to put so much weight on what other people think of you.

  • You’re sacrificing your true happiness

When you lie to yourself, you’re basically hurting yourself and sacrificing your true happiness. This is especially true in romantic relationships. You convince yourself you’re happy with someone when the truth is that nothing can be further from the truth.

In the case of abusive relationships, the abused partner will often cover up and make excuses on the abuser’s behalf. They’ll tell themselves their partner loves them when in reality, they know it’s not true.

But they’re too afraid to go out on their own, so they sacrifice any chance of happiness they may have if they leave their unhappy relationships!

  • You’re not letting yourself get what you deserve

Putting someone else’s welfare ahead of yours is a very noble gesture. However, if you’re letting yourself get trampled in the process, then that’s not a good thing.

You tell yourself you’re happy with the way your life is right now, and your dreams can wait. But, can it really wait?

If you constantly let yourself down and you settle for whatever comes up on your way, without fighting for what you want, then you’re ultimately sacrificing the things that will make you truly happy in your life!

4 Secret Ways You Can Create Your Own Destiny

4 Secret Ways You Can Create Your Own Destiny

Creating your own destiny may be hard, but not if you truly want to live life on your own terms. When you’ve got the motivation and the drive deep within you, anything is possible.

If you really put your mind and heart into it, no one can stop you. Your destiny is yours and yours alone. It’s ready for you to take it. You just need to figure out how. So, here are 4 secret ways you can use to create your own destiny!

  1. Figure out who you really want to be

You can’t create your own destiny if you don’t know where you want to go. The first thing you need to do is to figure out who you really want to be in life. You’re free to be anything you want, however, you’ve got to choose something realistic and sensible as well. Otherwise, you’re setting yourself up for big-time failure!

  • Change your attitude

You don’t have to be on the receiving end of things all the time. Creating your own destiny entails taking over the reins. This means being in charge of your life.

Tell the world you’re going down the road less traveled, if need be. But you’re not going to be wasting your time waiting for the rest of the world to join you. You’ll simply take matters into your own hands and live life the way you want to live it!

  • It’s all in the details

If you want your vision for yourself to come true, then you need to plan out how you’re going to get from where you are now to what you want to be in the future.

You can’t just say, “Oh, I’m sure all the pieces will fall into place someday.”

Remember, you’ve got to change your attitude and take life by the horns instead of letting it take you where you don’t actually want to go!

  • Don’t be afraid to take chances

Take every opportunity to learn whether it’s from your failures or successes. Knowledge can’t ever be underestimated. It’s what will help you grow as a person. It’s what’s going to arm you in the future and make you future-proof, so to speak. When the opportunity to get you closer to your destiny presents itself, don’t be afraid to dive head first!

3 Reasons Your Comfort Zone Isn’t Helping You Achieve True Happiness

3 Reasons Your Comfort Zone Isn’t Helping You Achieve True Happiness

We all have our comfort zones, and the truth is, it’s important to us. But you can’t stay shackled to your comfort zone forever. Here’s why you need to step out of your comfort zone if you want to achieve true happiness:

  1. Your comfort zone is where your dreams go to die

You have dreams, and you want to achieve your dreams within your lifetime, right?

By achieving your dream, you’ll finally get to live the life you’ve always wanted, and you’ll find happiness. But you can’t do all that if you’re stuck in your comfort zone.

When you’re not willing to step out of your comfort zone, your skills and your knowledge will stagnate. You’re not going to improve in any way.

The thing is, your dreams will require you to do things you’ve probably never done before. You’ve got to be ready for that, and you’ve got to prepare yourself mentally and physically.

If you don’t want to bury your dreams and your future happiness, then you better figure out how you can venture outside your comfort zone!

  • Your comfort zone is trapping you inside

Why would you allow yourself to get trapped in your comfort zone? Is it because you’re afraid of failing? Or maybe even success?

Whatever the reason, the fact of the matter is that you can’t let yourself be stuck in your comfort zone. Unless, of course, you want to live a mediocre and unhappy life forever, then by all means, feel free to stay inside your comfort zone.

  • Your comfort zone is your greatest obstacle to happiness

You may think you’re happy where you are right now. But if you’re still yearning for your dreams, then you need to do something about it. For as long as you’ve got that void in your life, then you can’t ever be truly happy.

When you’re at peace with yourself, you can look at yourself in the mirror and say “I’m finally happy” with conviction.

If you can do this, then that’s really good for you! But if you can’t, then you really must take action and reach for your dreams. You’ve got to be committed to it.

At times, you’ll feel overwhelmed by the many obstacles that will stand in your way. Just don’t give up and always look towards the prize – your dreams and your happiness.

This is the Secret to Successful Facebook Ads

This is the Secret to Successful Facebook Ads

In a previous article, I talked about how you should use an evolutionary approach to your ads. You basically start with wildly different ads and run tests on them. You would notice that one performs better than the rest. You come up with variations.

However, here’s the problem. While people have successfully used that technique to make a lot of money on Facebook, they often do it in a very haphazard way. There’s really no rhyme or reason as to how they make their optimization decisions.

Often times, they would make wholesale changes to their ads that doesn’t really improve their ads’ performance. How do you know which part of the ad to optimize? How do you know how to set up your ad optimization system so you can produce greater and greater success?

The secret? Make variations on an element by element basis. Each and every ad you run is actually made up of many different elements. The most obvious element is of course, the picture that is associated with your ad. All Facebook ads have a picture. You can start there.

For your first ad campaign, you can run ten cheap tests, all using different pictures. Each of them will convert differently, assuming they convert at all. So, you pick the best performing picture. That’s one element. You keep making changes to that element.

For example, your ad campaign featured a woman with red hair. This was the best performing of the different types of women featured in your ads. You then play around with the picture.

Maybe you can crop the picture. You can come up with different angles of her face. Maybe you can come up with different compositions of the pictures. It still features the redheaded woman. You’re still dealing with the same element.

Once you run these tests and you figure out a particular variation that produces a sustainable, high-rate of clicks or conversions, you should move on to the next element which is the title of your ad. This is easier to mix up and vary compared to pictures. You play around with this.

Find the winner after several rounds of testing. How do you know the ultimate winner? When you cannot optimize its conversion rate any further, you know you’ve tapped out. So, at this point you’ve optimized the title element as well as the picture element, you then move on to the description. After that, you move on to the link and other parts of the ad.

At the end of the process, each and every element would’ve been optimized to the point that they cannot improve conversions anymore. The best part to this is you spend a fairly low amount of money because you haven’t poured your whole ad budget yet. You’re just trying to optimize the ad.

By this point, you should’ve been able to arrive at a winning ad formula or a winning combination of different ad elements. This is when you start spending a huge amount of money. If your ad has been optimized to the point that its conversion rate is predictable and high, you stand to convert a significant chunk of the paid traffic you’re going to be sending that ad.

Fail to Do This and Your FB Paid Ad Campaign Will Be a Waste

Fail to Do This and Your FB Paid Ad Campaign Will Be a Waste

If you fail to do this one thing, your Facebook ad campaign will be a complete and total waste of time, effort, and money. It really will be. Seriously, forget about it. The results that you get at the end of that journey will probably be the exact same result as the ones that you would’ve gotten if you had not gone down that path in the first place.

The most common mistake people get with Facebook ad campaigns is to set up ads and let them rip. They don’t optimize them. They don’t even pay attention to their results. They just set up a date, let’s say $1 a day for 14 days, and then they let them rip. They have ten campaigns running at the same time, so it’s going to all cost them $140.

At the back of their minds, $140 is not that big of a deal. It’s not much money, admittedly. So, they just let them rip. It gives them an excuse to be irresponsible. Don’t do that. You can’t just place an ad and then let it go. No.

You have to monitor them day by day. In fact, your campaigns will immediately tell you which ad is a flat-out loser. It’s your responsibility to stop the campaign when it’s obvious that that ad is not going to make it. It’s not just going to happen. So, put it out of its misery. Pause the campaign. Kill the ad and then find the ones that work. You then optimize the rest of your ads.

The essence of ad optimization on Facebook

So, how do you launch a successful Facebook paid ad campaign in the first place? Believe it or not, it has nothing to do with you being some sort of ad genius. Instead, you have to reverse engineer your competitors and come up with a standard model.

This is where you, setting up and account and liking the kind of things your target audience members generally like, come in. You kind of assume their interest profile and then you would start seeing your competitors’ ads. You should like those ads so you can see more.

Once you see as many ads as possible, you should be able to come up with a standard model. It seems like although there are many variations, they all kind of combine to a certain small range of predictable factors or elements.

You come up with a standard model. You come up with your own version. You test with a low budget. You test one ad, you’ll see immediately if it works or not, and then you create variations of that ad or you come up with many different types of ads and pick the winner. You then create variations of that and you keep running these cheap, fast tests. Each and every time you’re making variations.

Now, keep in mind that you’re going to be making variations using an elemental approach. I’ll discuss this in another article. The bottom line is you pick a winner and then you make variations. You keep testing until you find the ad that delivers the best return on investment.

It seems that if you’re going to spend very little money, this is guaranteed to produce a certain amount of results. Day after day. Week after week. Once you’re able to reach that stage, you then scale up your budget so you can pour as much traffic into that ad. If its conversion rate holds up, then you stand to make a decent chunk of cash.

How to Achieve Realistic Results with Facebook Lead Generation

How to Achieve Realistic Results with Facebook Lead Generation

As you probably already know, when you run a paid campaign on Facebook, its ad platform allows you to collect leads. That’s right. You can run a lead generation campaign. The problem is there are so many myths and misconceptions surrounding lead generation on Facebook that you’ll probably fail.

I don’t mean that to depress you. I definitely don’t say that to discourage you, but let’s get real here. If you believe in these misconceptions, then chances are you’re just setting yourself up for a let-down.

One of the most powerful myths, that’s very hard to shake, is that straight lead opt-ins can be had for cheap on Facebook. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, I see tweets about this for marketers all the time.

These are people who know their way around Facebook. These are not people who just tried Facebook or are in any way, shape, or form wet behind ears. These are veterans. All I can see is them complaining, moaning, and groaning that it’s just too expensive.

In fact, one person was saying that in her niche, you basically had to spend $80 just to get a lead. Now, you probably already know that a lead is very different from a sale and that $80 per lead is very expensive.

How do you make things better for yourself if you’re running a Facebook lead generation campaign? How do you set yourself up in such a way that you don’t end up like these people who’re complaining that generation leads is just too expensive or downright impossible? Well, it’s actually quite easy. Follow the steps below.

Find competitors and figure out their freebies

The first thing that you need to do is to like your competitors’ pages and join their groups. This way, you set up your user profile to be targeted by their ads. Find their ads and figure out what they’re using for freebies.

What will this tell you? First of all, it will tell you what kind of incentives are available. It also tells you that nine times out of ten, your competitors have tested their campaign. This means that if you keep seeing the same type of freebie come up again and again, chances are that should be the kind of freebie you should be offering.

They’re not doing it for their health. They’re not doing it because they have nothing else better to do. They did not just take some wild stab in the dark to come up with that freebie. The reason why that type of freebie crops up again and again is because people somehow, someway get results from that. Stick to that.

Figure out how they offer the freebie

You have to understand that to generate a lead on Facebook or any other platform, you give out a freebie in exchange for an e-mail. So, the key here is to figure out how they position the freebie.

Are they saying that it saves you money? Are they saying that it’s some sort of secret hack or trick to save time, effort, and money? How exactly do they position it?

Pay attention to this because you’re going to copy and optimize what they’re doing. I’m not saying you should copy and paste. I’m saying you should copy and optimize. This is different.

Run a long-term campaign

The next step to success is to accept the fact that you’re going to run a long-term campaign. You’re going to run ad, after ad and you’re going to resolve to fail quickly. In other words, you’re going to spend very little money on each ad as you test it out.

You figure out the ad that works best and then you optimize it to try to improve its conversion rate. Using an elemental approach, you should be able to identify the ad that works best for you. You keep running these long-term campaigns while focusing on successful ads. These lower your total campaign costs.

Keep optimizing until you find the best results for the lowest amount of cash

The bottom line is for you to keep running these ads, focusing on the best converting ones, and then keep optimizing them until you find the best results for the lowest amount of cash. You then scale up your campaign by increasing the amount of money you pay for the ads. This ensures that you get a lot more eyeballs and if your ads are optimized right, your ad will be converting at an optimal rate.

How to Pick Winning Curated Content for Facebook Page Marketing

How to Pick Winning Curated Content for Facebook Page Marketing

As I mentioned previously, one of the best ways to build up your Facebook page is to not come up with original content. At least, not in the beginning. You should look at your competitors’ Facebook pages and find their very best content.

You should then publish these pieces of content on your page and study your statistics very carefully. Which of your posts gets shared the most? Which ones get commented the most? Which ones get liked the most?

Once you’re able to figure out the specific pieces of content that get the most engagement, you should be able to see a larger pattern. You should be able to see that certain pieces of content simply draw a lot more attention. They engage your users more.

Your job then, is to pick out these winning pieces of content. You look for related or similar types of content and publish those on your site. Eventually, you come up with your own version. If you did it right, your engagement level will be the same as the materials produced by third party publishers. That’s how you will know that you’re doing this right.

How to pick the very best content

Now it’s one thing to say that you’re going to pick the best content your competitors have, it’s another to actually do it the right way. You see, the big danger here is you’re going to be using your opinion as to what “the best content” means.

I’m telling you, it’s not about you. People don’t care about what you like or don’t like. What they care about is what they like. It’s all about them. So, how do you use this as a winning strategy?

It’s actually very simple. You look at your competitors’ Facebook pages and scan through their posts. Which of their posts is the most popular? Which of their posts gets shared a lot, get the most likes, or get the most comments?

Pull the link for those posts and post those on your website. See if you get the same level of engagement. If you do this enough times with many different competitors’ contents, certain patterns emerge.

You would quickly realize that the audience you’ve built up, up to this point, are more likely to engage with certain types of content than others. You figure out what works and you ditch everything else. That’s right. You forget about them, you focus on the stuff that works, and then you scale them up.

You publish more of it and eventually, you come up with your own version. That’s how you play the game. It’s not a question of hunches or guesses. You have to look at objective indications of popularity such as page likes, comments, shares, and other types of engagement. I hope you see how this works. If you do this right, you will be able to put up a fairly compelling Facebook page that can lead to conversions later on.
